NEW YORK, NY — a4 Advertising (now Optimum Media), won the 2023 Reed Award by Campaigns & Elections in the category Best COVID Response Campaign for reaching a multicultural community though hyperlocal, bilingual advertising.

Named for Campaigns & Elections founder Stanley Foster Reed, The Reed Awards embody excellence in political campaigning, grassroots, and advocacy, recognizing the most exceptional work in campaigning from the preceding year.

In February 2021, the Arizona Department of Health Services approached a4 to launch a campaign that would reach a multicultural community with a vaccine disparity far below its surrounding areas. Working alongside the Arizona Department of Health Services, the a4 team determined a hyperlocal, bilingual campaign with a digital focus was the best fit. As a result, the department implemented a campaign with culturally resonant messaging inclusive of generational and language differences. The campaign’s high engagement demonstrated the considerable need for multicultural communities to receive culturally relevant information and communications targeted to households in their spoken language.

“a4 Advertising was excited to have the opportunity to work on this important initiative — purposing proprietary data solutions to reach hyperlocal audiences and drive awareness around access to health services within underserved communities — and are honored to be recognized for the work we do on behalf of our customers, communities, and advertising partners,” said Sten McGuire, Vice President of Politics & Public Affairs, a4 Advertising.
